1、 The generator room should be equipped with an exhaust system

The diesel generator set should be installed in a well ventilated, clean environment, and close to the main electrical equipment and distribution room in the machine room. The computer room should be equipped with exhaust facilities. The machine room of a closed diesel generator set generally does not require forced ventilation, and can be ventilated outdoors through the fan provided by the unit to promote air convection inside the machine room. In the machine room of an open diesel generator set, a fan can be installed for forced ventilation if necessary. At a distance from the unit, use a fan and a large diameter air inlet pipe to introduce outdoor air into the machine room. The outlet of the intake pipe should be as low as possible, so that the introduced air can sweep over the heat dissipation part of the generator set. The exhaust fan should be installed at an internal high position to allow the high-temperature rising airflow to be timely discharged from the outside.

2、 The optimal combination of ventilation and dust prevention

There must be sufficient fresh air in the computer room, otherwise dirty air will cause a decrease in diesel engine power. Dust can damage the insulation between the engine rotors and, in severe cases, burn out the generator set. If the ventilation is good, the moisture-proof performance will inevitably decrease appropriately. Overly considering dust prevention can affect the ventilation of the generator room. The two seemingly contradictory aspects require the design personnel of the generator room to calculate and coordinate based on the actual situation to achieve the optimal combination.

3、 The spatial layout needs to be reasonable

The distance between the units and from the unit outline to the wall should meet the needs of handling equipment, on-site operation, maintenance and repair, or arranging auxiliary equipment.

4、 Security needs to be guaranteed
