If the coolant level is too low, it will affect the cooling effect of the system and aggravate the diesel engine cavitation. However, caution should be taken to prevent steam from injuring people. So how do we usually maintain the radiator of the water tank?

1. Cleaning of water radiator

The radiator of the water tank needs regular maintenance to ensure heat exchange between the coolant and air. In general, the exterior and interior of the radiator in the water tank should be cleaned every 500 hours of operation of a diesel engine. To clean the internal scale and sediment impurities, the water inside the radiator can be drained first, and then water with a certain pressure (such as tap water) can be introduced into the radiator core until the flowing water is clean.

2. Maintenance of water radiator

If there is any leakage after using the radiator for a period of time, it can be repaired with soldering. When individual pipes are severely damaged and cannot be repaired, it is allowed to block the pipes, but the number of blocked pipes cannot exceed three, otherwise it may cause the outlet temperature of the diesel engine to exceed the allowable range.

3. Daily precautions

The pressure cap installed on the water inlet of the radiator in the water tank can increase the system pressure to a certain range, which not only increases the boiling point of the coolant, allowing the system to operate normally at higher temperatures and certain altitudes, but also improves the anti cavitation ability of the diesel engine and water pump. There are steam valves and air valves inside the pressure cover. When the positive or negative pressure in the radiator of the water tank exceeds the specified value, the valve inside the pressure cover will automatically open to achieve the purpose of steam discharge or air entry.
