1、 Scope

This specification specifies the pre installation preparation, personnel, process requirements, process and inspection for the installation process of marine diesel generator sets.

This specification applies to the installation of marine diesel generator sets.

2、 Preparation before installation

(1) Familiarize and master all design drawings, product installation and operation manuals, and other technical documents related to diesel generator sets and their installation.

(2) To collect supporting equipment from the warehouse, it is necessary to check its integrity and verify the product nameplate, specifications, and model

(3) Check the appearance of the equipment for scratches, paint peeling, rust, and debris contamination.

(4) Check the anti rust sealing status of all pipe openings, threaded joints, etc.

(5) Corresponding safety measures such as cleaning, moisture-proof, and scratch prevention must be taken for the inspected supporting equipment.

(6) The components such as the base, cushion block, and adjustment gasket must be checked according to relevant documents such as drawings.

3、 Personnel

(1) Installation personnel should possess professional knowledge and undergo relevant professional training. Only after passing the assessment can they be on duty.

(2) Installation personnel should be familiar with the requirements of this specification and strictly follow the process discipline and on-site safety operating procedures.

4、 Process requirements

(1) Base panel

The flatness of the base panel: standard range ≤ 2mm/m, allowable limit deviation ≤ 5mm/m, and allowable local, scattered, and small deviations.

(2) Installation of steel and cast iron adjustable gasket bases

1. The installation gaskets, blocks, bolts, and washers should meet the requirements of the design drawings.

2. Installation clearance: Before fastening the diesel generator set and the base, adjust the gasket and fix the cushion block with 0 05mm feeler gauge inspection, local allowable insertion depth ≤ 10mm, and the distance between the shock absorber and the adjusting gasket should meet the technical requirements of the drawing.

3. Requirements for contact area between gaskets: Contact area ≥ 60%

4. The external inclination of the welding pad is 1:100, and the thickness of the pad is ≥ 12mm.

5. The cushion block can use epoxy grouting pads approved by the ship inspection.

When using tight fitting bolts and positioning pins for positioning, relevant technical requirements should be met.

When using thrust blocks for lateral positioning, the thrust surface should be snug. Use a 0.05mm feeler gauge to check, and the allowable insertion depth in some areas is ≤ 10mm.

8. Tighten the fastening bolt (column) with a head extension length of 1-2 pitches.

If the diesel generator set manufacturer has special requirements for installation, it should be installed according to the manufacturer's technical requirements.

10. After the installation of the generator set, it is necessary to ensure that the crankshaft difference of the engine is within the specified range (according to the regulations of the product factory)

5、 Process

(1) Installation of diesel generator base

1. Base positioning: The installation personnel first find the correct installation location and position it according to the dimensions of the unit's distance from the deck (platform) ribs, ribs, midship, or other related structures on the ship's hull given in the drawings.

2. Lift the prefabricated base onto the positioning position and recheck the position of the base, which must meet the requirements of the design drawings.

3. Check the alignment between the lower plane of the base and the hull structure. When there is a large gap, it must be corrected to meet the technical requirements before welding can be carried out.

After welding, check that the quality of the weld meets the requirements.

5. Check the surface of the base to ensure compliance with the requirements of Section 4 (1) of this specification.

6. After the upper surface meets the requirements, fix the cushion block for positioning, weld it properly, and perform brushing and oil inspection. Check that the flatness between the fixed cushion blocks meets the requirements of Section 4 and (1) of this specification, and their contact surfaces meet the requirements of Section 4 and (2) 3 of this specification.

(2) Installation of diesel generator sets

1. Number the fixing pads and adjusting pads for each generator base.

2. Use the lifting screw to adjust the gasket to lift the generator, keeping the front and rear ends as level as possible. Check the gear shift and adjust it to the specified range.

3. Place the adjustment gasket, seat the generator, and use a thickness gauge to check the fit between the adjustment gasket and the fixed gasket, as well as between the shock absorber and the adjustment gasket, to meet the requirements of Section 4.2 of this specification. Check the gear shift and submit it.

4. After positioning, drill the bottom foot screw hole and tighten it with bolts, recheck the gear shift and submit it.

5. Verify that the above technical parameters of the unit meet the requirements of Section 4 and (2) of this specification.

(3) Installation of diesel generator system

After the diesel generator set is installed on the ship, it can be connected and connected to the relevant pipeline system, instruments, instruments and their ancillary equipment according to the drawing requirements.

6、 Inspection

(1) After the welding of the base is completed, the quality of the plane on the base shall be inspected according to the standards in Section 4 (1) of this specification.

(2) Check the fit between the adjusting gasket and the fixing gasket, as well as the shock absorber and the adjusting gasket, in accordance with the requirements of Section 4.2 of this specification.

(3) Inspect the gear shifting of the diesel generator set to meet the technical requirements of the product.
