Precautions for correctly draining water

1. When discharging water, the water tank cover should be opened. If the water tank cover is not opened, although some of the cooling water can flow out, as the amount of water in the radiator decreases, a certain degree of vacuum will be generated due to the sealing of the water tank, which will slow down or stop the water flow. In winter, the machine parts may freeze due to unclean water discharge.

2. When the temperature is high, it is not advisable to drain water immediately. Before the engine is turned off, if the engine temperature is very high, do not immediately stop and drain water. The load should be removed first and let it run at idle speed. When the water temperature drops to 40-50 ℃, drain water again to prevent the temperature of the outer surface of the cylinder block, cylinder head, and water jacket that come into contact with water from suddenly dropping and contracting due to sudden water discharge. However, the temperature inside the cylinder block is still high and the contraction is small, which is easily caused by the large temperature difference between the inside and outside of the cylinder block and the water jacket Cracks occur in the cylinder head.

3. After draining the water in cold winter, the engine should be idle. In cold winter, after draining the cooling water from the engine, the engine should be started to idle for a few minutes. This is mainly because there may be some residual water in the water pump and other components after draining the water. After restarting, the residual water in the water pump and other parts can be dried by the temperature of the body to ensure that there is no water stored in the engine, and to prevent water leakage caused by water pump freezing and water seal tearing.
