The use of generator sets cannot be separated from the matching use of fuel tanks. Below are the technical requirements for the fuel tank of the generator set.

(1) It is necessary to store the fuel tank in a safe location to prevent fires. The fuel tank or drum should be placed alone in a visible place, appropriately away from the generator set, and smoking is strictly prohibited according to regulations;

(2) If the fuel tank is self-made by the user, attention should be paid to the use of stainless steel or steel plates for the fuel tank of the backup generator set. Do not paint or galvanize the inside of the fuel tank, as they will react chemically with diesel, produce impurities that may cause damage to the generator set, and reduce the quality, cleanliness, and combustion power of diesel;

(3) After the oil tank is placed, the highest oil level cannot be 2.5 meters higher than the base of the generator set. If the oil level of the large oil depot is higher than 2.5 meters, a daily oil tank should be added between the large oil depot and the generator set to ensure that the pressure for direct oil delivery does not exceed 2.5 meters. Even during the closure period of the generator set, it is not allowed for fuel to flow into the diesel engine through the intake or injection pipelines relying on gravity;

(4) The resistance at the oil outlet is not allowed to exceed the specified values on the functional data sheet of all generator units when using clean filters. This resistance value is based on filling half of the fuel in the fuel tank;

(5) The orientation of the fuel supply pipe end of the fuel tank should be about 50MM higher than the bottom of the generator set fuel tank to prevent sediment and water from being sucked into the fuel supply pipe;

(6) The connection of the fuel return pipeline should not cause shock waves in the fuel pipe of the generator set;

(7) The fuel capacity inside the fuel tank should ensure daily supply;

(8) The oil tank supply and return areas should be equipped with perforated partitions to reduce heat exchange of the generator set.
