There are two types of low oil pressure shutdown problems that occur after starting a diesel generator: low fuel pressure and low lubricating oil pressure.

The simplest reason for low fuel pressure may be that one of the inlet valves is not open, there is air in the pipeline, or there may be a blockage or malfunction in the fuel supply system in front of the high-pressure fuel pump (dirty filter, faulty fuel supply pump, blocked pipeline).

The lubricating oil pressure is low, and the fault belongs to the action of the diesel engine's security mechanism, which causes the diesel engine to automatically stop oil and stop. You can first confirm whether the oil pressure is really low, whether the detector (pressure switch) is working properly, whether the signal transmission of the detector is normal, whether the automatic processing center of the diesel engine is working properly, and whether the built-in oil pump of the diesel engine is working properly.

In addition, the following situations may also result in low oil pressure alarm shutdown:

1. The oil pressure alarm probe has malfunctioned, causing false alarm and shutdown. Replace the probe with a better one;

2. The residue in the engine oil blocks the detection hole of the probe alarm, and when the probe cannot detect the oil pressure, it alarms and stops the diesel generator;

3. The expired oil filter element was not replaced in a timely manner, causing blockage in the oil circuit. The unit control module cannot detect the oil pressure and also alarms and shuts down;

4. The engine oil of the unit has expired and deteriorated, but when the oil temperature rises, the oil will become thinner and the oil pressure will also decrease, which does not have a lubricating effect on the diesel generator. When the module detects that the oil pressure is below the protection value, it will alarm and shut down normally to protect your generator equipment. Timely replacement of lubricating oil will immediately restore normal operation.
